Trauma, Abuse, And Domestic Violence
Trauma can cause scary thoughts, changes in your body and mind, and can lead to unhealthy patterns that feel hard to break. Some days it just feels difficult to be in the world. It’s important to have a place to heal from these experiences with a therapist who understands the emotional, psychological, and neurobiological effects of trauma.
Anxiety
When anxiety or long-term stress become unmanageable, it changes our nervous system and makes it hard to enjoy life. Fortunately, research shows we can also change these mechanisms in our brain and body to feel more relaxed and experience more moments of happiness. Beginning therapy can help you learn how to do this.
Low Self-Esteem
Low self-esteem can take over our entire life and effect our mental health, relationships, school or work, and our sense of connection with the world. It can make it hard to set boundaries. You may feel unequal to others, like you’re not doing enough, or like you don’t know who you are. It’s possible to feel good about who you are; therapy can help you get there.
